Leon Aleman Jr.

I hope you are having a blessed day! My name is Leon Aleman, Jr.,

I am a native of the great city of San Antonio! I graduated with Honors from Fox Tech HS in 1984. At Fox Tech, I lettered in Football, Baseball, and Cross Country. I was selected All-District in Baseball in 1982, 1983, and 1984 and was an All-Area Selection in baseball in 1984. I went on to attend and graduate with an Associate of Science Degree in Education from Ranger Junior College (1986). At Ranger, I worked with the Rangers Baseball Team as a player-assistant and played on the JV Squad. I completed my college education when I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education from Incarnate Word College (San Antonio) in 1990. At IWC, I also played baseball and was a member of the inaugural Crusaders baseball team when the program began in 1987 and stayed with the team for the following three years. I began my teaching and coaching career in 1990 in my hometown of San Antonio and have grown to love and enjoy the profession! My wife Patty and I married in 1994, we are blessed to have three children and a grandson. I have been in Edgewood ISD and Memorial High School since the Fall of 2001. I can honestly say it has been a genuine pleasure and a great experience to serve the students of the Edgewood Community! At Memorial, I teach Physical Education for grades 9-12. I also serve student-athletes as the Head Soccer Coach and Assistant Football Coach.

Armando Ontiveros

Hello everyone!
My name is Armando Ontiveros, I am the Varsity assistant coach and GK coach for the Memorial HS boys soccer program. I am a graduate of the University of the Incarnate Word and a graduate of Memorial HS! I played goalkeeper all 4 years and accomplished great things while attending Memorial HS. My junior year, I received one of the greatest honors I could ever achieve as a player, I was selected as an All-City Goalkeeper for the city of San Antonio. As a junior playing at the Varsity level and receiving the nomination and the honor of being selected as All-City Goalkeeper it helped me grow as an individual, as a player, and as a student. This pushed me to pursue something greater. I began thinking about attending college and playing at the collegiate level. During my senior year of high school, Coach Aleman helped me get to that level and helping me get recruited by Huston-Tillotson University, Austin, Tx, where I played goalkeeper for 2 years. Playing at the collegiate level was one of the greatest achievements and experiences I have ever encountered in my life and I thank Coach Aleman for believing in me and pushing me every day to be better as a player and a student. I am grateful to be a part of this program for Edgewood ISD and Memorial HS and I intend to push every player on the team to become a better player and a better student so they can experience much more than I ever accomplished. "School first, soccer second" is our motto for the Memorial Boys soccer program. School and grades come first before anything else in this program. Without school, we will not be able to accomplish any goals that we as coaches strive for and try to achieve.
