Coach Lewis

Coach Lewis

Coach Lewis was born and raised in a small town by the name of Collins Ms. His two loving parents are Michael and Marilyn Lewis. Coach Lewis 6 siblings (4 Brothers and 2 Sisters). In High School, he played football, track, and tennis in which he lettered for 3 years. Growing up, Coach Lewis had a passion for sports and wanted to make football his full-time profession. Coach Lewis played 3 years of Varsity Football, Track, and Tennis. Upon graduation, he earned an athletic scholarship to play football at the Wide Receiver position at Jones County Junior College.

After his stint at the Junior College, Coach Lewis transferred to the University of Louisiana where he completed my last two years in the program. After obtaining his bachelor's degree, Coach Lewis went on to play professional Arena Football for the Louisiana Mudbugs, Austin Turfcats, and the Corpus Christie Hammerheads. "Playing for those programs was an amazing experience that led me down this incredible journey. I am forever grateful for all those who guided me along the path of success." Although his dream of becoming a professional athlete in the NFL didn't pan out, he truly found my true calling in High School Coaching. Coach Lewis has had the pleasure of serving the Edgewood ISD community and the Memorial High Athletic Program.

In 2017 Coach Lewis received several prestigious honors that included: Dave Campbell 5A Coach of the Year, SA Express-News 5A Coach of the Year, Pat Shannon sub-6-A Coach of the Year, TSRN 5A Coach of the Year and the Texas Football Week 5 Inspirational Coach of the Week. "I am very proud of the accomplishments earned for the 2017 season but none of this would have been possible without my team, coaching staff and support system."

Coach Lewis is now entering his 8th year of coaching with 3 of those years being the Athletic Coordinator/Head Football Coach of a 5A program in San Antonio Texas.

Coach Davila

Coach Davila

Coach Davila graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. He started coaching at Edgewood ISD in 2014 at Gus Garcia Middle School. In 2016 he started at Memorial High School where he coaches Football, Powerlifting, and Track.

Coach Molina

Coach Molina

Coach Molina graduated from Texas Lutheran University in the spring of 2008 Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology and Education with a Minor in Mathematics. Upon graduating, the following fall Coach Molina started his first teaching job at Seguin High School teaching Algebra 1. While there in Seguin, Coach Molina started his coaching career as an assistant football and assistant boy's soccer coach.

In the fall of 2014, Coach Molina began his position here at Memorial High School and has enjoyed every day that he has been a part of the Minutemen family. This is Coach Molina's 5th year at Memorial as a Math teacher and assistant football and girls soccer coach. At the completion of the 2018 school year, Coach Molina was named the girls Head Soccer Coach for the 2018-2019 season.

In the summer of 2015, Coach Molina married his wife Priscilla. She is an Education Specialist for Early Childhood/PPCD at the Education Service Center (ESC-20). "We are currently expecting our 1st child, due in January 2019 and cannot wait to meet her."

Coach Aleman

Coach Aleman

Coach Aleman began his teaching and coaching career in 1990 in his hometown of San Antonio and have grown to love and enjoy the profession! He graduated with Honors from Fox Tech HS in 1984. At Fox Tech, he lettered in Football, Baseball, and Cross Country. He was selected All-District in Baseball in 1982, 1983, and 1984 and was an All-Area Selection in baseball in 1984. Coach Aleman went on to attend and graduate with an Associate of Science Degree in Education from Ranger Junior College (1986). 

At Ranger, he worked with the Rangers Baseball Team as a player-assistant and played on the JV Squad. Coach Aleman completed his college education when he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education from Incarnate Word College (San Antonio) in 1990. 

At IWC, Coach Aleman also played baseball and was a member of the inaugural Crusaders baseball team when the program began in 1987 and stayed with the team for the following three years. 

Coach Aleman and wife Patty married in 1994, and are blessed to have three children and a grandson. Coach Aleman has been in Edgewood ISD and Memorial High School since the Fall of 2001. "I can honestly say it has been a genuine pleasure and a great experience to serve the students of the Edgewood Community!" 

At Memorial, Coach Aleman teaches Physical Education for grades 9-12. Coach Aleman also serves student-athletes as the Head Soccer Coach and Running Backs Coach/Special Teams Coordinator.

Coach Ramon

Coach Ramon

Coach Manuel Ramon has been a teacher and coach since 2001. He is from the small proud Texas town of Brackettville. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sul Ross State University. Coach Ramon has been a coach at Memorial High School as part of Edgewood ISD since 2012. He serves as the English Language Arts Teacher at Emma Frey Alternative Educational Program. He is currently the defensive line coach for the Minutemen and the Head Boys Track Coach. Coach Ramon has also coached other sports such as basketball and powerlifting.

Coach Salas<

Coach Salas

This is Coach Salas's first year here at Memorial High School. "I am looking forward to meeting all my students and their parents. If at any point you the parent/guardian or the student has any question please feel free to contact me by phone, email or here on campus. Let me share a little bit about myself."

Coach Salas is a product of the Southside of San Antonio. He attended South San Antonio High School. While at South San Coach Salas played varsity baseball all four years. He was also a member of the Spanish and Chess club. After graduating high school Coach Salas received a scholarship to attend and play baseball at Huston Tillotson University in Austin formerly College). However, life threw him a curveball and left school and enlisted in the United States Marines Corps. While in the Marines, Coach Salas traveled to places such as San Diego, CA., Camp Pendleton, CA., Jacksonville, NC., Pensacola, FL., and Okinawa, Japan.

After being Medically Honorable Discharged Coach Salas returned home to San Antonio and worked downtown on the river as a boat captain giving tours and as a Network Technician for Rio San Antonio Cruises. Even though he enjoyed his time there Coach Salas moved on to Time Warner Cable. Coach Salas started at Time Warner in 2005 and left in 2012. He was a Business Class Installer where he installed VIPs such as Manu Ginobili, George Strait, Red McCombs, and Sean Elliott to name a few. However, due to his injuries, that he suffered in the Marines, Coach Salas had to change careers.

Coach Salas decided to stop working and return to college full time. It was tough not working but with the help and support of his three daughters, Coach Salas attended Palo Alto College(PAC) from January 2013 through May 2014. He graduated with honors and received two associate degrees (History and Interdisciplinary Studies). Upon completing my prerequisites, Coach Salas then transferred to Texas A&M University-San Antonio(TAMU-SA) where he graduated in December 2015. While at TAMUSA, Coach Salas was a Bilingual Education Student Organization(BESO) member. He was also a member of Kappa Delta Pi, History Club-Vice President and Student Veterans of America.

Coach Salas is the father of three beautiful girls. "I owe everything I have learned in life to my grandparents and my parents. Because of their guidance and loving, I am the man I am today."

Coach Salas serves as the Assistant Defensive Line Coach and Head Baseball Coach for Memorial High School.

Coach Martinez

Coach Martinez

Coach Martinez is beginning his 9th year in coaching at San Antonio Memorial High School. He graduated from Eldorado High School before graduating from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Philip received a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology. The first 5 years of coaching experience began at San Angelo Central as a football/baseball assistant coach (2010-2015). His head coaching experience started at Natalia ISD as the head baseball coach (2015-2018).

Coach Montes

Coach Erick Montes attended Edgewood H.S., where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He was an All-City 1st Team wide receiver in football, All-City 1st Team shortstop in baseball, and All-City Honorable Mention in basketball. He earned a football and baseball scholarship from Missouri Valley College. He coached varsity football and was the head baseball coach at Kennedy HS for 16 years. He is currently coaching at Memorial H.S., where he coaches Defensive Backs in football and is the Varsity Assistant Baseball coach.
